Post Impressionism
Post impressionism is the term coined by the British artist Robert Fry in 1910 to describe the development of French art since Manet. Fry used the term when he organized the 1910 exhibition Manet and the Post-Impressionists. Post-Impressionists extended Impressionism and they continued using vivid colors, thick paint, and real-life subject matter, and they were more inclined to emphasize geometric forms, to distort form for expressive effect, and to use unnatural color.

Impressionism
Monet
Monet
Impressionism is my favorite art period. I think the style and general appearance of the paintings are the most desirable. Monet is my favorite artist in this time period because of his brush strokes and colors used in his work. the movement started in Paris and gradually became more popular as Monet, Manet, and many other artists started releasing new works in exhibitions.
Versailles
hall of mirrors, gardens with maze hedges
Versailles is one of the largest palaces in the world. It has huge, sprawling gardens. It originally began as a hunting lodge. I love this palace because of the land it's on, and the craftsmanship in the interior of the buildings.
